Lotfi Belkhir, CEO and Founder of Kirtas Technologies, Inc.
Lotfi Belkhir is the founder and CEO of Kirtas Technologies.
In 2001, Dr. Belkhir founded Kirtas with the vision of enabling high-quality, rapid and cost-effective mass digitization of bound documents.
Today Kirtas has become the world-recognized leader in book digitization, and its products and services have been highlighted in mainstream TV and print media around the world.
At Kirtas, Dr. Belkhir leads the strategic direction as well as the day-to-day management and oversight of Kirtas’ rapid growth. In late 2006, Dr. Belkhir led his company to a strategic tri-party agreement with Microsoft and Cornell University to provide high-quality digitization of out-of copyright material owned by Cornell.
Prior to starting Kirtas, Dr. Belkhir worked at Xerox, where he held a variety of management positions in R&D, product development, new business incubation, and strategy and planning. He has been a featured speaker on Innovation and Digitization issues at various venues, including the American Library Association, the Center of Innovation and Management Studies, McMaster University, University of Indiana at Bloomington, Xerox Research Center of Canada, Conference on Management of Information, and Computers in Libraries Meeting.
Dr. Belkhir holds a Ph.D. in Physics and a Master’s in Management of Technology. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
Linda Becker, VP Sales and Marketing. Linda has had 25 years of experience in the digital imaging systems and service business. Linda spent 22 years at Xerox Corporation with her most recent position being the VP/GM Worldwide Color Business unit. Prior to joining Kirtas, Linda held the position as the VP/GM of Kodak’s health Imaging Division.
Marcel Aldewereld, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Kirtas Europe. Marcel began his career in sales for IBM Nederland where he spent more than 10 years in Sales and Marketing for their channel group.
Marcel spent four years managing the Xerox dealerships in the Netherlands, and in 1997 Marcel became the Worldwide Channel and Marketing Manager for the Xerox Scanning Business unit.
Marcel has been sales director of KPN Channels (voice/data) where he was responsible for an annual budget of 185M euros and managed an organization of 40 people in sales as well as providing direction and support for 300 business partners. Prior to his current position as head of Kirtas Europe, Marcel was the general manager of Interconsultancy Amsterdam.
Ann Marie Farnsworth, Director of Finance, is a certified public accountant with over 15 years of experience in public accounting at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Her most recent position was as a Senior Audit Manager with a client base that included high-tech companies, multinational manufacturing and service companies, public sector entities, not-for-profit organizations and institutions of higher education.
Tom DeMay, VP Business Development. Tom is a gifted and insightful developer of corporate growth with a long record of strengths and accomplishments in fostering innovative business.
Tom has over 25 years experience in management, sales, consulting, and development of software, hardware, and services with industry leaders such as IBM, MCI and Computer Associates. Most recently Tom has held senior and executive level positions in Sales Operations, Sales Management, and Business Development within successful entrepreneurial technology businesses.
Mark Klein, Director of Operations. Mark Klein is the leader of operations of Kirtas Technologies. Apart from his organizational expertise, Mark is highly skilled and knowledgable in the areas of Information Technology and computer science.
